What is fiber internet?

Fiber internet is a cutting-edge broadband technology that delivers data using fiber-optic cables—thin strands of glass that transmit information as pulses of light. This allows for dramatically faster, more reliable connections than traditional copper-based networks like DSL or cable.

How fast is fiber internet?

Fiber internet delivers some of the fastest connection speeds available today. At ALLO, our fiber internet packages bring true gigabit performance to homes and businesses with three blazing-fast options: 500 Mbps, 1 GIG, and 2 GIG speeds. Each plan provides consistent reliability and low latency so you can connect multiple devices and still experience smooth, uninterrupted performance across your entire home or office.

Is fiber internet good for gaming?

Yes—fiber internet is excellent for gaming because it offers low latency, high reliability, and ample speed headroom to keep your gameplay smooth and responsive. Our Gaming Necessities plan offers our fastest internet speeds of 2 GIGs and is designed for hyper-responsive connectivity so you can worry less about lag and more about your win rate.

How is fiber internet installed?

Fiber internet uses thin glass fibers to transmit data as light, delivering faster and more reliable connections than cable or DSL. With ALLO, you get a 100% fiber network built for speed and stability, offering 500 Mbps, 1 GIG, and 2 GIG service options for homes and businesses.

How is fiber internet installed?

During installation, a technician connects a fiber line from ALLO’s network directly to the outside your home. Once fiber is installed on your home, the technician can go inside and plug in your Wi-Fi Blast 7. A small device called an Optical Network Terminal (ONT) is placed inside to convert the light signal into data your router can use. The process is quick, clean, and usually completed in just a few hours, giving you instant access to ALLO’s high speed fiber internet.
